Oppo Unveils Find X9 Series with 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto Camera System

Oppo has officially introduced its flagship Find X9 and Find X9 Pro smartphones in China, featuring a groundbreaking 200-megapixel Hasselblad telephoto camera and powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9500 processor. The devices pack robust silicon-carbon batteries and represent a significant leap forward in mobile photography capabilities.

Camera Innovation and Design Overhaul

The Find X9 Pro showcases a 200-megapixel Hasselblad telephoto camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor behind a Hasselblad-certified 70mm lens at f/2.1 aperture, featuring prism hybrid OIS with active optical alignment. This marks a substantial jump from the previous generation’s 50-megapixel telephoto sensor. Oppo has also engineered a unique teleconverter accessory exclusively for the Pro model, incorporating 12 glass elements that extends optical zoom to 10x for photos and 50x for video capture.

The series marks a dramatic departure from previous designs, abandoning the circular camera module for a new rounded-square module positioned in the upper left corner. According to Oppo India Brand Manager Priyanka Madan, this change was implemented to prevent lens contamination during device handling.

Processing Power and Extended Battery Performance

Both models run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process and utilizing third-generation All-Big-Core architecture with an ultra-core clocked at 4.21GHz. The processor delivers 32% higher single-core performance and 55% reduced power consumption compared to its predecessor.

Battery capacity represents another major upgrade: the Find X9 houses a 7,025mAh cell while the Pro model packs a massive 7,500mAh power unit, representing increases of 1,395mAh and 1,590mAh respectively over their predecessors. Both devices support 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, with Oppo claiming the batteries will retain at least 80% of their capacity after five years of use.

International Launch and Pricing Details

Following today’s Chinese debut, Oppo has confirmed a global launch event scheduled for October 28 in Barcelona. The Find X9 starts at ¥4,399 (approximately $615) while the Find X9 Pro begins at ¥5,299 (around $740) for the base configuration with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. An Indian launch is expected in November.

The devices ship with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, making them among the first smartphones running the latest Android version, with Oppo promising five OS updates and six years of security patches. Unlike its subsidiary OnePlus, which recently ended its Hasselblad partnership, Oppo continues strengthening its collaboration with the Swedish camera manufacturer.
